We're delighted to be hosting the singers and instrumentalists of Pate's Grammar School on Saturday 24 September. They're performing John Blow's short (about 50 mins) opera Venus and Adonis. Proceeds to the organ fund.
John Blow was Purcell's teacher and he originally wrote the piece for the court of Charles II. It retells the classical story with equal doses of humour and pathos.
